DexScreener Trending for Pump.fun Coins: Factors, Boosts and Makers

Unlike Pump.fun, DexScreener actually tells you what goes into its trending score. It just won't tell you the weights. This page sticks to that published list, explains boosts without the sales pitch and shows how a Pump.fun coin looks on DexScreener before and after it graduates.

DexScreener trending ranks pairs using factors DexScreener lists publicly: volume, liquidity, transactions, unique makers, holders, visitors to the token page, community reactions, Enhanced Token Info and security audits. The exact formula is private. For a Pump.fun coin that means broad activity from many wallets, a filled-in token profile and real visitors, with boosts only multiplying a score you already earned.

Key points

  • DexScreener publishes its trending factors but keeps the weighting to itself.
  • Unique makers count separately from volume. A thousand wallets trading small beats one wallet trading big.
  • Boosts multiply an existing trending score for 12 to 24 hours. They do not replace activity and are non-refundable.
  • A Pump.fun coin gets a new PumpSwap pair at graduation, so its history on DexScreener effectively splits in two.
  • Pricing is one flat 1% of the volume goal (smallest goal 100 SOL), and runs carry on in PumpSwap after graduation.

What does DexScreener say about trending?

DexScreener has a short trending page in its docs. It names the inputs, says strong trading and community engagement are what get a token to the top, and openly states that the precise blend stays secret. That's more than most platforms give you, and it's enough to plan around.

Factors as listed in the DexScreener docs. Weights and time windows are not published.
FactorTypeWhat you can influence
VolumeOn-chainTotal SOL traded in the pair
LiquidityOn-chainPool depth; set by the curve or PumpSwap pool, not by you directly
TransactionsOn-chainNumber of buys and sells
Unique makersOn-chainHow many different wallets traded
HoldersOn-chainWallets holding the token
Page visitorsOff-chainPeople opening the token page on web and app
ReactionsOff-chainEmoji reactions from the DexScreener community
Enhanced Token InfoProfileA paid, verified profile with links and images
Security auditProfileAudit results and open-source code count in your favor

Notice how many of those you can't buy. Visitors and reactions come from people. Holders grow when wallets keep tokens. Liquidity on a Pump.fun coin is whatever the curve or pool holds at that moment.

How do boosts work on DexScreener?

Boosts are DexScreener's paid visibility product, described on its boosting page. You buy a pack from the yellow Boost button on the token's web page (not the mobile app), and depending on the pack it stays active for 12 to 24 hours. Collect 500 or more active boosts and the token gets the Golden Ticker, which shows its symbol in gold across the site.

The important line is the one about scoring. DexScreener says boosts apply a multiplier to an existing trending score and don't replace the on-chain and off-chain metrics behind it. Multiply a small score and you still get a small score.

Boosts can't be refunded, and DexScreener may remove them if its moderators or auditors judge a token to be malicious. Tokens that have been inactive for 24 hours or more, or that carry security risks, can't be boosted at all. So the order matters: activity first, boosts on top if you want them, never the other way round.

So is a boost worth buying for a Pump.fun coin? Sometimes. If the pair already has a few hundred makers, steady trades across several hours and a complete profile, a multiplier on that score can tip it into a visible spot, and the Golden Ticker can be a nice bit of social proof for a community that's already engaged. If the pair is thin, you're paying to multiply close to nothing, and the boost clock runs out after a day either way. We'd spend on trading breadth and a proper profile first, then look at boosts with a clear head once you can see where the pair actually sits.

How a Pump.fun coin appears before and after graduation

In our experience DexScreener picks up Pump.fun coins while they're still on the bonding curve and shows them as a Pump.fun pair. Liquidity there reflects the curve's reserves, which start from 30 virtual SOL and grow as buyers come in, per the Pump.fun curve docs. Working from the published constants, our own arithmetic puts curve completion close to 85 SOL of net buying, near 410 SOL of market cap.

Graduation changes the picture. Liquidity migrates automatically to PumpSwap, and DexScreener shows the new pool as its own pair with its own address, its own chart and its own makers count starting from zero. The curve pair's history doesn't carry over into the new numbers.

That split catches creators out all the time. A coin can show 2,000 makers on the curve pair at 3 p.m., graduate at 3:40, and look almost empty on the PumpSwap pair ten minutes later. If you want to show up in DexScreener's trending list after graduation, the activity has to keep going in the new pool. Our PumpSwap volume bot guide covers what changes once the coin lives there.

One practical tip: when you share a link after graduation, check that it points to the PumpSwap pair and not the old curve pair. We've seen communities keep posting the stale link for hours, sending visitors to a chart that stopped moving at migration.

Makers vs volume: which matters more?

Open any pair page and you'll see trading split into short and long windows, with separate counts for txns, buys, sells, volume and makers. Makers are distinct wallets that traded. Volume is SOL. They tell very different stories. Want proof? Take 100 SOL and split it three ways.

Illustration of how identical volume produces very different maker counts.
Same 100 SOL of volumeMakersTransactionsHow it reads
One wallet, 50 trades of 2 SOL150One trader, obvious at a glance
20 wallets, 10 trades each20200A small group cycling
1,000 wallets, 1 to 3 trades each1,000About 2,000Looks like a crowd

Since unique makers are a named factor, the third row is plainly the one you want. It's also what visitors respond to. A trader who opens the pair page and sees 1,000 makers next to 100 SOL of volume reads it as interest; 1 maker next to the same volume reads as one person and they move on.

Holders are related but not the same. A maker who buys and sells everything is gone from the holder list a minute later, and that's the reason our holder bot guide treats holders as a goal of their own.

Which time window should you aim at?

DexScreener doesn't say which window feeds the trending score. Five minutes? An hour? A day? We don't know, and we'd be suspicious of anyone who claims to.

What we do see is how the pair page reads to a human. A coin with a huge 5-minute column and an empty 6-hour column looks like a pump that already happened, while a coin whose 1-hour, 6-hour and 24-hour numbers all grow in step looks like something people keep coming back to, and in our runs the second shape is also the one that tends to stay visible longer. So we pace for consistency. If you have 200 SOL of target volume, spreading it over four or five hours usually reads better than dumping it in 20 minutes.

Spikes fade fast. Steady lines don't.

How to trend on DexScreener, step by step

  1. Fill in the token profile

Enhanced Token Info and audit results are listed factors. A pair page with a logo, links and a description also keeps visitors around longer.

  2. Spread activity across wallets

Aim for many makers rather than a few big trades. That covers volume, transactions and unique makers together.

  3. Keep going through graduation

Plan for the new PumpSwap pair. Activity that stops at migration leaves the new pair looking dead.

  4. Send real people to the page

Visitors and reactions are factors. Share the DexScreener link, not only the Pump.fun one, with your community.

  5. Boost last, if at all

A multiplier only helps once a decent score exists. Decide after you see how the pair is doing, not before.

Where a volume run fits

Our volume runs sized for DexScreener cover the on-chain half of the table. Each run hands its trades to somewhere between 500 and 10,000 newly made wallets, so makers and trade counts climb with the volume instead of lagging behind it. Trading begins on the curve, then switches by itself into the canonical PumpSwap pool at graduation, which keeps the new pair from going quiet at the worst moment.

You can stretch a run anywhere between 15 minutes and 10 hours. For DexScreener we'd usually go longer rather than shorter, because a pair with steady makers across several hours looks very different from one with a single spike. Holder retention, from 20 to 80% of wallets keeping a small balance, helps the holders factor.

What a run can't touch is the off-chain half. Visitors, reactions and the profile are yours to handle. And nobody can promise a trending slot; DexScreener says itself that weak tokens won't rank high no matter what they spend. For the Pump.fun side of the same problem, see how to trend on Pump.fun.

What does it cost in SOL?

Pump.fun takes a platform charge on curve trades, PumpSwap takes one in the pool after graduation, and the run wallets also pay Solana network fees, priority fees and Jito tips to land their swaps. If you tried to generate the same activity yourself, you'd be adding those up trade by trade across hundreds of wallets. In a run you don't have to think about any of it.

Our fee stays flat regardless: 1% of target volume, so 1 SOL for a 100 SOL run or 5 SOL for 500 SOL. What Pump.fun and PumpSwap charge per swap, the network fees and the Jito tips all get paid out of that figure, and nothing is added afterwards. The console shows the full amount before you send anything. You fund it by sending SOL to the address the console displays, or by scanning the Solana Pay QR.

Local rules and keeping funds safe

How token promotion is regulated depends on the country, and this page isn't legal advice; when in doubt, ask someone local. Each swap in a run is an ordinary Solana transaction, and the trades come from many wallets at different sizes and moments, so the pair looks like a varied group of buyers and sellers. Neither Pump.fun nor DexScreener is affiliated with us.

Your funds stay on your side the whole time. Nobody from our team will request your seed words, your keys, a wallet signature or access to your wallet. Orders are paid by sending SOL to the address that appears inside the console for that order, and that's the only one you should ever use.

Quick answers

What factors does DexScreener use for trending?

On the on-chain side DexScreener names trading volume, liquidity, transaction count, unique makers and holders. Off-chain it adds visitors to the token page, community reactions, Enhanced Token Info and security audits. Weights and the exact formula stay private.

Do DexScreener boosts guarantee trending?

No. DexScreener describes boosts as a multiplier on an existing trending score for 12 to 24 hours. They do not replace on-chain and off-chain activity and cannot be refunded.

Does a Pump.fun coin show on DexScreener before graduation?

In our experience yes, as a Pump.fun pair during the curve phase. Once it graduates, the PumpSwap pool appears as a separate pair with its own history.

What are makers on DexScreener?

Makers are distinct wallets that traded the pair in a given window. The same volume can come from 1 maker or 1,000, and unique makers are one of the listed trending factors.

What is the Golden Ticker?

A token with 500 or more active boosts gets the Golden Ticker, which displays its symbol in gold across DexScreener while those boosts are active.

Why did my coin vanish from DexScreener trending after graduation?

Graduation moves liquidity to a new PumpSwap pair whose volume, makers and transactions start from zero. If activity stops at migration, the new pair has little to rank on.

Put this into practice

Drop your mint into the console, set wallets and volume, and the fee is shown before anything is sent. One flat 1% of the goal, no wallet link required.
